Etre Comme Un Poisson In Deep Water

• Photography
100 x 100 cm

This piece differs from the others in that its focus is less about the environmental impact of human interference and more about Océane's personal perspective which results from the artist's bilingualism. Each square is a photographic installation of a fish bowl – some contain fish and some contain representations of world problems.

This contrast reflects the contradictory meanings in the title: “Etre Comme Un Poisson In Deep Water”. “Etre comme un poisson dans l’eau” is a French expression meaning “ To be as happy as a fish in water”. On the other hand, “To be in deep water” signifies “to be in serious trouble”. The interaction of these two perspectives mirrors how the artist sees the world.
